Dead Strokes @ Freedom Poolers, Monday @ 7pm in Beetle Spot

This could be another interesting match-up I get to ref, neither league is full of brilliant players (I don’t think), but to me each side has a couple experienced heads on it and they should be able pull together decent teams and clock up a few wins this season. Dead Strokes, with Rick (Lager) and Roy (Judge) sharing the captaincy duties, will surely turn up fully prepared and with 6 players ready to go, but the team could ultimately do with the pair also picking up a win or two between them along the way. Aside from themselves they have Marijuana God and no.cost who picked up wins last week vs. SS, so we know DS have a few players who can do the business and with a few breaks they could definitely be in with more than a chance in this one.

On the other hand, you’ve really got to feel sorry for the Freedom team, having to put up with Ashley (Piles) as their captain :p However, it’s not all doom and gloom :) They’ve reportedly acquired a couple of decent shooters for WPC this season – they will be hoping players such as Marky, Adam and co-captain Petey (Eskimo) show up and turn in big performances for them over the course of it, and if the captain plays it right they could do well and go far. Looking at their possible drawbacks, WPC’s in its second week and (although they haven’t played a 6v6 yet) FR don’t have that many players signed up. I’m sure this won’t be an issue, but we’ll find out tomorrow night.

Match Odds: DS (2/1) Draw (15/8) FR (8/11) Fav.

Match Prediction: FR 4 - 2 DS FR win in 5

As for the other matches I’ll just do a quick prediction picking it based on whatever knowledge I’ve got (or decide to invent) about the teams so if something I write is totally inaccurate then, I don’t really care so don’t bother telling me that I’m wrong :p

LPL @ PCZ – should be a high quality encounter with last season’s WPC champions LPL facing this PCZ team that has been dominant so far this season in PRO and has a group of well experienced inter-league players. Player Dude, Chex, Tino and Korben you’d think would all have to be there to give LPL a chance of winning the match, but I’m gonna take it for a draw even though I’d perhaps rate PCZ the favourites there. 3-3.

MP @ HT – these two leagues I feel could be hit or miss this season. Both sides contain a couple of decent shooters, MP with Jordy, Ian and Mick, HT with Yvonne and Boo, but after these guys I’m not really sure whether or not they’ll be consistently good enough to win a play-off spot. I was impressed with HT last week, but I’m still gonna side with MP to sneak the win. 4-2 MP.

SS @ LS – another one that really could go either way. Start of the season I’d probably have been quick in picking LS but their performance in week one did little to instil confidence. SS appear to have some decent shooters in Steven, e_n_d_l_k_a_y and Craig, yet they let the opportunity slip when they could have put DS to the sword last week. Both leagues are gonna be eager to kick-start their season with a win, so it will be close, but LS should take at-least a draw from this match. 4-2 LS.

PFN @ “DPZ” – whoever the new league is, does it really matter? 6-0 PFN.

DC @ GPC – after last week’s escapades does this match go ahead? Who knows... if it does, I think DC wins it 4-2. If it doesn’t, I think GPC wins it 6-0.

Thanks for reading, will have the match report up for DS @ FR before Wednesday afternoon at the latest I'd imagine. Very good luck to everyone in week two and have fun. In a bit. Ogges.
