Conference Finals

So Round 1 of the playoffs completed and all went to plan with the exception of one game! Welcome to Sports Scene! So both matches in the Eastern Division were on Tuesday lets see how they went.

Pool Fiction Vs Latino Pool Legends

The rematch of last seasons finals where LPL won. However this was a different story with the PFN captain Oggie determained to lead PFN to a WPC World Cup so they have something to defend next season. PFN not doing too well in the likes of MLP and PLC. UIC they lost out to LPL so this was big. Pool Fiction won it 4-1 with the only loss coming from Kerry in game 1. Pool Fiction were fantastic here but also LPL just wasnt there hard hitting, competetive selves. True Champs very nearly got in but LPL just pipped them and really did not perform on monday night allowing PFN to stroll to victory. Roger, Lewis, Cubby and Andy picked up the wins for PFN. Poolz defeated Kerry. Player Dude, David, Punisher and Tino lost for LPL. GL next season guys

Sexy Poolerz Vs Xtreme8Ball

So to the SP vs X8B match that Dan WAS meant to show up for, for X8B and we all know the Cubby MLP rant by now dont we? This was a interesting match up where The Magician Kicked off for X8B against Im2Smart. So the two captains kicked the proceedings off and X8B took the advantage. So X8B 1-0 up and Pete has to think whos gonna level it up? Ste is as good as anyone and was put up against James the All starer for X8B, by the way Dan was livid that James got Allstar and he didnt. James won and X8B looked very well placed here. Sirbangsalot though ruduced the deposit and beat u got no skillz. Adam then Stepped up and played very well in giving X8B two chances to clinch by beating Snooky. Then the fun started. SP called Pascal and then Ben the X8B captain called Dan who was missing. Wasnt at the table and after 7 minutes he had timed out. Now X8B is a massive league, has lots of tournies, yet X8B did not have a 6th player. So again SP won a time out match. 3-3 and a decider. James played Pascal, It was a good match but Pascal saw SP through to play PFN in the Conference finals.

HT vs DS

This was the shock of the season. High Timez came intot his match fully undefeated, Ok they have had a lot of draws and stuff but they had not lost a match and would have just thought they would have too much for Dead Strokes. NOT SO! Every player that was called for DS over performed except Rick who lost his match (I had to get that in :P) Ash played his match, It wasnt the first match, It was the second match and made THE biggest shot in the whole match on the 8. He had fucked himself but made a incredable bank to win the game and ultimately it turned DS intot he only possable winners. Judge(Roy) performed magnificently and DS ran away with a 4-1 Victory.

LS vs SS

Well lets start by saying both teams Sucked! They did. LS and SS both had a timeout a peice. I messed up my game to lose. Simon lost his match. LS was saved by a timeout in the last game when SS was winning 3-2 and SS timed out. Now earlier int he match Tonzmaniac(Chris) was in sparkling form and beat Its.Dustin in the Decider to make it a LS vs DS conference finals. 4-3 LS was the Score

Eastern Finals

The conference finals are here and winning this gets you into the WPC World Cup bo3 series. Pool Fiction no strangers to WPC conference finals after getting to the WPC World Cup Series in both the previous WPC Seasons will be looking to win this match against a strong Sexy Poolerz team. If PFN win it they will have got to every World Cup but are yet to win the WPC Title. Pool Fiction will need to bring Andy, Cubby and Jamie here as SP are better than the LPL team they thrashed. SP without captain Pete are under the stewardship of Ste on Monday. The way PFN are performing here in WPC compared to everywhere else is puzzling, they are world class at online pool, Sexy Poolerz will need to bring 6 players that are eligable. If they do then this will be entertaining. Who will win? Pool Fiction have a strong teama nd a hungry Captain. Sexy Poolerz if they bring 6 can at times flatter to decieve but at other times can thrash teams. This will be close.

Prediction:

Well I have gone back and forth about this and i have come to the decision that PFN have the better team and without Pete there for SP it will be interesting to see how Ste handles captain. 4-2 PFN

So can DS do what they did in UIC in WPC? As Number 4 seed can they progress to the WPC World Cup final series. Dead Strokes totally blasted through High Timez last week and to be honest they looked very very impressive. Roy, Ash and Drunken.bastard must perform this week and Rick must find some form to compete with LS, because when LS bring players like Tam, Chris, Simon and Justin they look dangerous. Lucky Shots were very lucky against SS there name living up to the slogan on the LS site Areyou Feeling Lucky? Yes they were and the luck came to them. If this is a close long drawn out match then I will plump for DS to win here. If Players like Tam and Chris play to form then LS will win this. Either way we have two very competetive teams and the winners of this will be who can hold there nerve.

DS - 3-1

Prediction:

This is going to be close, Dead Strokes will need to draw on Roys experiance and Ricks good captaincy skills to show LS how its done. Lucky Shots will need to perform better than they did against SS, which I think they will and will take this but dont be surprised if the tiebreaker is Ash or chuck vs Tam or Chris. 4-3 LS

The Western playoff predictions and the Allstar 7v7 result

Welcome to Sports Scene and the rest of the playoff round 1 predictions and the results from last night's All Stars won be the Eastern Division 7-5. They will have home advantage in the BO3 WPC World Cup. Lets look at the Two Western playoff matches first.

(2)HT vs (3)DS - Anneurysm @ 6pm on Wednesday 25th March REF = Lisa

The only match on wednesday I think as SS and LS moved to Thursday and It's the undefeated (although In a easier division than PFN who could have gone undefeated) High Timez against the 3rd seeds Dead Strokes and It looks interesting here. HT have a lot to live up too and there main hitters in Robby and Mickey (if he shows) and Chris094 must show and play well here or the likes of Roy (who has had a 4-1 season), No Skillz and Ash will stomp over HT. DS deserve there spot in the playoffs and will also need to bring there 'A' game this week to dispatch HT and progress into the conference finals. If they do then they can start thinking of the World Cup. If High Timez show up and play like they have this season then they will take this.

Roy for DS is flying and was the Allstar member for DS last night in the AllStars. HT have Chris, C.marco and Booman in for for them.

Will rick play? all i have to say on that.

Prediction:

This is so tough to call. Dead Strokes just lately have flown in MPI and in UIC, winning the Emerald UIC title. But I feel If HT show with the players they have they will nick this. HT 4-3 Decider

So Lucky Shots and Straight Shots play the last match of round one and what a interesting match this will be. Whenever SS get to any playoffs they perform. Look at IPA they won it beating a MP team I am part of. However LS in WPC except HT have beat or drawn with the rest. In Tam, Simon and Chris(tonz) LS have a strong 3 with the likes of Me, Justin and Justin backing them up. For SS to win this they need likes of Steven, Ragas, Cue balz, Chris and Cheeky_Ian to show and perform against atleats I would say 2 of the big three if they do that then LS have a tough match on there hands. If not then we all knwo the result.

Tam_s0 is in form as usual in WPC and for SS if cheeky Ian plays he went 4-0 and was unlucky not to get in the all stars.

Players out of form:

Steven for SS will need to get back to his form of old for this match.

Key Men:

The captains which would be interesting if its Nigel and Bev. These 2 know how to do this shit and will both be careful of who they picka nd who plays where.

Prediction:

I will go for a LS win here I feel they have the better players and will see off a Strong threat from SS.

AllStar week and Playoffs!

Welcome to the Allstar day and the playoffs all in the same week. After 14 weeks of fierce competition we have the final 4 in each conference. Lucky Shots, High Timez, Deadstrokes and Straight Shots get to the playoffs in the Western Division. Whereas in the Eastern division Pool Fiction, Xtreme8Ball, Sexy Poolerz and Latino Pool Legends get in to the playoffs here. So before we look at the playoffs lets look at this evenings 7v7 carry allstars match and the question is, Will Simon play? With camtasia being mandatory this could be a interesting but maybe a long night. In the Eastern Division we have two from Pool Fiction in Oggie and Lewisss. They have had great seasons and will take all the beating tonight. Oggie gets in out of a tight bunch of people including Stu. After talking to kev a while ago It was decided that Oggie got the nod. Joining them two are l2eal Ownage and Itchy_balz and will be very strong. Itchy balz is important to get a win this allstars. Lewisss and Oggie cant do it by themselves. LPL have Player Dude doing it again this season after winning last season. LoyalDragon and This conferences MVP P.ascal finishes it off in a strong looking team for the Eastern Conference. The Western Conference looks just as competetive. Tam_s0 and Simon for LS but will Simon show who knows. Tam has been the best player for Lucky Shots this season. BooMan and IMHIGHER for High Timez. These two have carried High Timez to a undefeated season but can they continue on the playoffs? Roy has had a amazing season for Dead Strokes and that alone has helped them into the playoff spots and with 5-1 he gets into the allstar team. Naughty Chris for Straight Shots gets into the playoff spots and looks like he can be the one to step up and help tam, robby and Mickey out here. 8BallCrushers have amusedlilpiper and will do well for them. The result will be close and will depend on the picking first alternating pairs. The captains will be on the page soon. and I will go for a Eastern win 7-5.

(1)PFN vs (4)LPL - Bad Times @ 7pm on Tuesday 24th March

This is the rematch of last season's finals. LPL have been dodgy all season but then went and won the UIC championship last week against Pool Fiction. PFN though have just managed to get Jamie and Andy Eligable. This will go down to a close match 7 and it will end 3-3 and you will get a winner from each team playing each other in a winner takes all. Look at LPL, Only really Tino and Player Dude have performed and True Champs can count themselves very unlucky not to be in LPL's place. Pool Fiction survived a Xtreme8Ball onslaught and held on to number 1 seed. Players Like Stu, Oggie, Lewis and as its LPL watch for cubby to play, must perform so players like Andy and jamie can wrap things up for PFN.

LPL after UIC are the players in form they played a long ass match against PFN and won

Players Out Of Form:

Interesting here because I thought I would never put Jamie as someone that needs to improve but im sure he will if he plays.

Prediction:

PFN will win this here and gained revenge for last season.

Another big match here and the question being will SP show with 6. If not then X8B will win this. If both show with 6 players then we have a match up. James the best X8B player going by stats this season will look to win his match and hope people like Dan, Eric and The Magician will win theres to take this match. However Ste, Ketan, Pete and watch for Snooky to come on cam and win his match. Sexy Poolerz in my view are up against it this match though, X8B are doing well and are up there in the other interleagues they are in.

Ste for SP is in good form and James is doing well for X8B

Players Out Of Form:

Not much to say here and if SP dont show with 6 there doomed.

Dan is the key man and it pains me to say it. He will probably go for clinch or save and will he keep his head?
