Win Or Go Home....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First off, I would like to thank all the leagues that participated in this WPC season. Through all the ups and downs you all have stuck around and kept this inter league great the competition was strong the whole season. It's TIME, the long awaited playoffs have arrived ladies and gentlemen. PFN and X8B got the first round bye in case you have been living under a rock and weren't aware. SS vs DS and MP vs SPS are the match-ups this week. Of the 2 match-ups my attention and interest is focused on the SS vs DS match but both should be full of tough challengers and lots of excitement. I wish you all the best of luck, it's time to win or go home. May the yahoo glitches be in your favor WPC.

SS(5-2-2) vs DS(5-0-4)

------------------------------
SS has played hard this whole season, and I don't see it stopping now. They have fought through many trials and yet, managed to come out with home-field at the end of the season. Losing some key players like Nish, Shan, Nigel, Nick, and Trey had me worried, and nearly scratched them out of the playoffs. However, Shelle did a great job bringing in a crew that supported this SS team in their times of need. Jon, Pascal, and Tonz all have done very well; they will be the key players here for SS. If SS wants to win this match, Shelle will need to call them at the right time. Based on their regular season match-up in week 5, it would appear DS have the upper hand.

DS have exceeded most peoples expectations this season. Preseason I had them finishing outside of the playoffs but look at how well Chele has been captaining her squad. Roy deserves props as well for the free-reign he Provided Chele. DS won 4-2 earlier this season against SS and will hope to repeat the outcome, but, does she have the stars needed to contend with SS? DS do have strong players; Roy, you_might_lose, and xXxGxOxDxXx but is that enough? Roy has the most experience and will be a key player but not getting Ashton eligible is going hurt Chele badly. The pressure will be on DS and the match will come down to how well they can keep their nerve.

Shelle is going to make sure she doesn't repeat what happened in the regular season. Jon, Tonz, Pascal, and Jamie will be a HUGE challenge for DS. Chele will need more than skill to win this match-up. On paper SS are just too strong for DS. I predict that SS will take this match 4-2 and will be seeing PFN in the 2nd round.

MP(5-2-2) vs SPS(3-1-5)

---------------------------
MP have done well in WPC. They were last seasons champs and almost walked into the playoffs with a first round bye. Chris has brought a very formidable crew to the table. It's not surprising MP have shut people out this season. Chris brings MVP Nish, Shan, Nick, Jordy, Croz, and Trey to the table. They might not have all finished with great records but no one wants to match-up with any of those heavy hitters. Chris, you should have been the allstar captain, you have put together an outstanding team.

Monte from SPS has done just enough to make the playoffs this season. I never thought in my wildest dreams SPS would be sitting here matched up against MP but here we are. This match-up is going to be like night and day. SPS are known for fast paced games that don't usually have excessive snooking and they will need to change up their strategy if they want a shot at beating MP. MP will force SPS to make the first move and I am sure Jason, Heather, and Kat are going to be aware of this. Those 3 need to slow their games up and play cautiously to give SPS a chance at advancing to round 2.

In the end the slow playing snoozefest of Shan, Nish, and Trey will prevail over a predominantly bang running squad from SPS. I would love to see the underdog win here but the simple facts are, they will not. MP wins 5-1 and advances to Round 2 against X8B.
