week 9
Ok its a very short blog this week but ogges will post too. I have no net so wont be around for a few days. Lets get straight to them. AAC play DS and i see a timeout win for DS who really need it after losing 5-1 to SS last week. x8b play LPL and this will go down to the wire, Tino and his gang need to start pumping out the results and i think they will. LPL 4-2. LS vs SS is a interesting game as LS lost to HT for the 2nd time this season and SS won 5-1 there first WPC win. 3-3. TC have looked good this season and will give RM a scare who looked good them selfs last week i will edge for TC in 6 4-2. HT will walk all over UNY they are just a better team. 5-1 HT. Same with PFN and PDZ 6-0 PFN.

Week 8 Match of the Week, X8B @ TC, Monday @ 7pm
Game One – X8B_adambuddy def. TC_trapstal2 – Trap threw caution to the wind early on in this game and was giving it his best shot at finishing the rack early. Adam played with more care keeping more balls on the table and soon enough had his clear chance at a run. He started making some balls but after numerous attempts he couldn’t free his last one from being blocked by the 8. It ended up these were only two balls left and Trap had a one rail bank for the rack. He came close and Adam was admittedly lucky to win, as he should have finished it off much sooner. Still, 1-0 X8B.
Game Two – TC_ltchy_l3alz def. X8B_proto.paintball – TC’s second player came out of the starting blocks just as fast, making shots left, right and centre. Again, Itchy looks to have no way to go, but he somehow produces a master shot on his last solid to leave himself a possible shot on the 8. He still had quite a lot of work to do, but hit the 8 off one of Proto’s stripe’s and cannoned it into the bottom middle, great shot. 1-1.
Game Three – TC_u_cant_beat_the_system def. X8B_slimshady313 – Again the TC player surrendered the advantage early on in this one by making too many of his balls. Slim worked his way into an easy run out and somehow missed to leave U_Cant with a think cut along the left rail from long distance. He missed it by a short way. Even after winning himself a BIH, Slim couldn’t go on to punish his opponent, and I didn’t see how he done it but U_Cant made it 2-1 to TC.
Game Four – TC_xlx_shogun_xlx def. X8B_the_lvlag1cian – Having seen TC turn the match around, X8B’s skipper called himself in attempt to stop the rot. Shogun broke the TC trend of going gung-ho at a run, and the match was a lot slower and wasn’t the most entertaining for the spectator. Shogun had a couple of half-chances to run it but preferred to wait for an easier opportunity. This looked like it would pan out to be a good decision, with Magician’s green stripe surrounded by solids, Shogun would make the one other stripe on the table, forfeiting ball-in-hand at in doing so. Magician really had no option from what I could see, with the green being so encased in the group of solids. It was a slow process but Shogun eventually worked himself an open table and finished it off easily. 3-1 TC.
Game Five – X8B_sicc.status def. TC_n00b_playa – After a rather soft break, the balls weren’t very open at all and I thought we were looking at another long safety battle. In saying that, N00b thought he’d spotted a run and started making shots quickly, and with almost full power each time. He got all the way down to his last stripe, and even managed to get position on it. He rushed it however and made it easy for Sicc and he made his run out confidently to put X8B back on track for the draw at 3-2 to TC.
Game Six – X8B_ lvlr_moustache def. TC_tc.debs - An even more safety minded break was followed by Debs taking the solid type, before lvlr would begin to follow suit by making solids. Debs seemed oblivious as to the tactics lvlr was employing and eventually he’d made all her balls but one and left her snookered on it. Despite the good position he was in, lvlr seemed to be lacking ideas for how to separate his two stripes from Debs’ one remaining solid. She made it easy for him and set her solid up the other side of the table and after he gained ball-in-hand once again it was a formality. lvlr ran his two stripes and the 8 with ease to clinch X8B the draw for their hard work.

Done this post as the match went along, so sorry for any errors. Both sides showed some talented players and I'd say both leagues are capable of reaching the play-offs (X8B would likely be in a better position had they been in from the start of the season). Anyways, VGL to the rest of the leagues playing this week. Thanks for reading. In a bit. Ogges.
