Key-(c)= correct scoring
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, last week was quite eventful people. If you are living under a rock you might not have heard, SP has withdrawn from WPC to be replaced by EP (EvilPoolerz). The scoop I hear is SP tried to change initials on a player they had already called. Cubby who I called out in my Pre-season rankings for being so meticulous about rules caught the change and notified the admin reffing. The player was DQ'ed shortly thereafter, Pete the capt of SP had enough of WPC and withdrew his league. I don't get why people blame the inter lgs when they cant follow the rules properly. It isn't like you don't expect Cubby to call you out if you aren't following the rules to a T. Who can SP blame but themselves? So enough about that, EvilPoolerz welcome to WPC 6. EP will have tough shoes to fill here, SP was predicted to take a playoff spot and possibly run all the way into the finals. Without further ado I give you my predicts for the week.
Quote of the week:
"You can always count on PFN to get at least one freebie win a season by reading the rules meticulously or playing teams that are to careless to follow them."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FR vs EP
----------------
Monday @ 7pm
I was shocked how close FR was vs MIB last week. It was a very good match, FR are strong competitors and I really cant see EP winning this. In honesty I know nothing of them but I will do a writeup on the match Monday so we all can learn a thing or two about who they have then... I say this match finishes closer then expected, EP are coming in unknown and that negates FR's player calling ability. FR still pulls this out in game 5.
Outcome:4-2 FR

MP vs DS
------------------
Tuesday @ 6pm
What a game MP had last week. I predicted X8B to start off strong and finish weakly but it was in fact the opposite. MP will be licking their chops going into this match, they have a strong lineup that with one or two breaks could have pulled out a W last week. MP faced a much stronger opponent WK1 then DS did. DS should have gotten a draw last week vs SPS but a DQ in game one doomed them. I cant see DS having a shot at a win let alone draw this week because MP have such a strong group of guys. Jordy takes clinch game 5.
Outcome: 5-1 MP

EPC vs MIB
----------------------
Wednesday @ 7pm
This is the easiest prediction all week. I'm sorry Jack but you aren't going to know what hit you after this match. EPC is going to be getting it from every direction home field isn't going to help you this week Jack. Pommy brings his backups and wins with ease. Jack shows with 4 or 5 players and pulls out one game.
Outcome: 5-1 MIB

PFN vs SS
------------------
Thursday @ 6pm
SS finished last week a lot closer than the score shows. 2 DQ wins given to them and a no show 6th from Jack insured them the narrow win 4-2. SS squeaking out a win this week would be blaspheme to predict. Yes, PFN was handed a win as well; a 5-1 win last week consisting of a legitimate win, one DQ, and 3 credits. The players that they could have used would have given them a win regardless vs another talented team in SP. Cubby will have home field yet again, that is all he needs to insure a win holding onto first place for one more week. This will be the match of the week and should have everyone's attention.
Outcome:4-2 PFN

SPS vs X8B
-------------------
Thursday @ 7pm
SPS and X8B met recently in PRO. That match was intriguing, if it wasn't carry James' Co. would be holding a loss or possibly a draw. Look for this to be a close one, Heather is seething to get a win this week. Jason will be as well, I can see this decided on the 6th game. X8B has a stronger lineup waiting in the mist, we will see them show with just enough talent to squeeze out their first win of the season.
Outcome: 4-2 X8B

MIB vs FR review...

First up, Petey for FR followed by the always starter in Sid for MIB. Sid starts off right away with the usual run from break, he slows up on the 5ball and fails on the resulting shot. Petey is left with a clear table run but he wonders where to start :-?. Eventually Petey picks his red and slides it above the 6ball top middle. Soon after Petey hits 14-12 combo and clogs his run up. Instead of trying a bang Petey chooses to snook under the clogged green. Sid attempts to stick Petey with no shot in return but in his valiant effort he fails. Petey is left with a challenging cut he fails as well, partly to some yahoonigans. With yet another easy table to finish Sid breezes through 3 balls and leaves himself with a window to make his last. He attempts but over cuts in top middle. Petey then takes his turn and ruins yet ANOTHER run, attempts to snook and fails. Sid finally makes his last ball in top middle and closes 8 in bottom middle. 1-0 MIB after a disastrous game by both players.

2nd match, FR calls Ashie and Pommy calls Joey. Ashie busts up table with break, He tries to run but can not finish. Joey snooks and Ashie Nails a beautiful bank combo, after that he sinks the cue on the following shot leaving a open table which is easily finished by Joey. 2-0 MIB, this is starting to look like a shellacking ladies and gentlemen.

3rd match, FR calls Dwayne followed by a MIB SI-machine call. Si with the break, is a scary site for FR. Si doesn't drop anything on his break and Dwayne snooks. This is Si though people, he starts off a impossible looking run. Cleaning the table one ball at a time tell a collapse on orange leave. Dwayne takes the open table and runs with it for a short time. Drops half his balls before leaving himself with only a snook option. With the horrid leave by Dwayne Si tries to snook back but falls a sliver short and gives up the dreaded BIH. Dwayne finally finishes it out taking down the Champ of Champs. 2-1 MIB, lookie lookie, FR aren't officially dugout of the ditch but things are looking brighter. This match could easily be 3-0 MIB or 3-0 FR plenty of failed chances by both parties.

4th match, FR calls Hope and in turn MIB calls Brandon. Hope uses her break to tap it up (after a RR issue on a early 8 break). Tapfest is the result tell Hope sees a window she can fit through but fails shot resulting in a similar fail by Brandon. Hope means business after her near miss and slowly but surely clears table. 2-2 DRAW, wow, I surely didn't predict this but what a way to start the season!

5th match, FR calls Ebs and MIB calls Matt. Snookfest, a repeat on this game or is it...? Ebs snooks and Matt has none of it. Matt opens table and runs shortly after his breakout. Matt clears table with what looks like ease. 3-2 MIB, and the soon-to-be champs step back up to the plate and crack a home run.

6th match, Tim is called for FR and Mike is called for MIB. Mike smashes break and fails to pot a ball. Tim tries to run her down and trips up. After a failed run on an open table by Mike he decides to play it safe and snook. Once Tim gives him a chance to runout table again he does. FINAL 4-2 MIB

This was a lot closer than I had foreseen. FR will be a challenge this season if they can show with the team they showed with tonight. Good Luck all in your matches this week. MIB, you squeaked by this time.

February 21, 2010

Welcome to WPC Season 6, hopefully this is the best season yet and you all enjoy it. I'll start my first blog off with my view of the playoffs and where I think each team will land. Note: I don't care if you don't like what I have to say, just my opinions, and yeah I don't know all the other teams as well as say, Jason or Mr. Know It All but I'll try my best to do what I can :D.

1st Place: Pool Fiction
Cubby is a great captain and I think week in and week out he will get further from all the other teams points wise and blow the remaining 9 teams out of the water. With players like himself, Miz? not sure if Cubby is planning on bringing him as he isn't signed up in wpc yet(at least not for pfn!) but he's definately a great asset to the pfn team!, Kerry, Jeremy and Stu. That's just to name 5. PFN will take 1st place by miles.

2nd Place: Xtreme 8 Ball
I'm taking a huge risk here with this. Can James bring 6 solid players each week to finish the regular season in 2nd place? I think he can! X8B is one of the few and far between leagues that is actively going strong today. If James can bring players like himself, Ben, bang.fail, Boo, and Seanmannn then I think he will just barely sneak into 2nd place, taking it away from possibly a much better squad! vgl X8B!

3rd Place: Money In The Bank
With Pommy as captain and the players he has already signed up in WPC I think this is going to be the team X8B steal 2nd place from. Although Pommy has a nicely stacked team with the likes of Stephen(the only MIB player registered in the EXPO Kick Off and made it to finals!) Indiana Elite, overachieving, Conor B, ta.lent, and the Pomster himself I think they will get unlucky and just barely miss finishing 2nd place. Prove me wrong Pommy!!

4th Place: Straight Shots
Straightshots with no surprise are already leading the EXPO standings by a good 10+ points, but the real question is how well can they do in the regular season? Shelle is no doubt a really great captain but I don't think she has what it takes to beat these unbelievable teams in the regular season in WPC 6!! There are only a few that Shelle has signed up that stand out to me as good, or even decent players like Jon(leafed_leafs) and cue.ballz, Nick, pascal, and Chrisx2. Can Shelle bring her strongest 6 players week in and week out to take up on this 4th place finish? Possibly. Best of luck to you SS.

5th Place: Sexy Poolerz
They may have won the regular season in WPC Season 5 but I don't think Pete has what it takes to keep hold of the WPC title in Season 6. This is a team that I think will either completely prove me wrong and make their way back up to the top of the ladder or possibly find themselves completely missing playoffs by a long shot! I give them the benefit of the doubt and say they will finish 5th, but I doubt that will even be the case.

6th Place: Simply Pool Souls
Most of you may say I am being only placing SPS 6th because I play for them but I really have faith that SPS will just barely make their way into the playoffs. We have a stacked team ready to go and Monte is fired up and waiting as patiently as he can for WPC Season 6 to start! A lot of our SPS players are old PFN members and I remember Jason doing well with PFN in interleagues before they all parted their own ways, and now some of them old PFN members that you seen in past seasons are back in SPS! With the likes of Jason, Mike, Kat, TJ, Derek and possibly myself(to pull off a few wins) SPS have what it takes to squeeze their way into the playoffs, or just miss it. However, never have doubts! SPS will really make a name for themselves here in this 6th season of WPC. So, watch out WPC!

7th Place: Freedom
Freedom is that team that I think will either give SPS that playoff spot, or take it away. With very few members signed up(compared to the other teams) I think Petey and his FR team will just miss the playoffs. Can Petey bring his best 6 each week and pull off win by win? Doubtful.

8th Place: Magic Pool
Not much I can really say about Magic Pool, they got lucky last season and literally squeezed their way into the playoffs by merely 1 win, can they do it this season? No chance. They will take some bad beats and will fall 2 places short of the playoffs and possibly even have a few blow outs and completely shock us. Their team just isn't strong enough to make it past Freedom and Simply Pool Souls for that 6th spot for the playoffs. Unlucky MP!

9th: Dead Strokes
This is interesting. Dead Strokes are back!?! I don't think Chele has what it takes to climb her way up the standings and make it well known that dead strokes are back although it will be close, they will have a few unlucky losses and a few very lucky wins. No one already signed up in WPC for DS stand out to me, very well known players but I don't think these players have what it takes. They will do better in the EXPO then they will in the regular season. Only time will tell, welcome back to WPC deadstrokes!

10th Place: Extreme Pool Competitors
With only 6 players signed up for WPC at the moment, this is the one league that should do well, but most likely won't. They will surely live up to their name, but it won't be good enough. Will their cam tapes be good? Probably. Will they be able to bring 6 players each week? Probably not. Can't really think of what else to say about EPC. VGL this season.

--Now Onto Week 1 Predictions Very Good Luck All!--

Money In The Bank vs. Freedom
Monday, February 22nd

This match will be very close! Petey and his Freedom squad will be looking to start the season out 1-0 but facing a very defensive and tough Money In The Bank team with Pomster as captain and MIB being the home team, I just don't know if Freedom can do it. Do they really have what it takes? Can who I think will finish the regular season in 7th place defeat who I think will finish 3rd? We will find out tomorrow.

Toughie: 4-2 MIB

Key Man:
MIB - Stephen, Indiana Elite, Conor B
FR - Petey, Ash, s.trategic, dope.skill

**

Simply Pool Souls vs Dead Strokes
Tuesday, February 23rd

Simply Pool Souls are the home team and have that advantage. They are fired up and ready to go. Chele can bring her strongest 6 players, and I think they will just barely fall short of stealing this match away and taking it back home with them.

5-1 SPS

Key Man:
SPS - Jason, Mike, Kat
DS - Chele, Roy, Chuck

**

Xtreme 8 Ball vs Magic Pool
Wednesday, February 24th

Here we have the mighty X8B taking on our reigning WPC Champs MP. X8B have the home advantage here and will do their best to really use it to their advantage. Can James bring his strongest 6 players here and defeat our WPC champs? I think so. Although it will be close, X8B will pull off a win.

4-2 X8B

Key Man:
X8B - James, Boo, bang.fail
MP - Anil, Croz, Jordy

**

Straightshots vs Extreme Pool Competitors
Wednesday, February 24th

Straightshots have taken this game home already! EPC will give SS a run for their money and try their best to give SS there 0-1 starting record but I don't think Jack has the stacked team to bring up against SS who have an even bigger team!

4-2 SS

Key Man:
SS - Jon, eddie.wins, Pascal, Nick
EPC - Timm, Big Skittles, Jack

**

Pool Fiction vs. Sexy Poolerz
Thursday, February 25th

This is going to be one of those very close games. Neck and neck all the way to the finish I think. SP will be up for anything and ready to try to bring PFN down, but with Cubby and his amazing team I think SP will just fall short and miss out on bringing this one home. No doubt about it this is PFN's game!

4-2 PFN

Key Man:
PFN - Jeremy, Miz, Stu
SP - Hornyscots, Ketan, Pete

**

There you go. Enjoy and be good!
