Week 2 Predictions
After a great week 1 we move on to week two and some great match ups which as normal i will start with match, Date and Time and Location. The Ref/Admin will be on the main page. Lets Start with match one.
Match 1
Dead Strokes @ Freedom
Date and Time: Monday 17th November @ 7pm
Location: Beetle Spot
So DS got a draw last week against SS and was rather unlucky not to get more. DS played better but one or two people just could not finish it off and actually found themselves 3-2 down when craig from SS helped DS come away with a draw by sinking a early 8. FR play there very first WPC match this monday and with Ash as captain and with the likes of Adam and Corey will look to try and grab a win against a very compact strong DS team who will no doubt take this all the way yet again. Rick lost last week and will see his MVP odds lengthen altho i dont see anyone being able to go the whole season unbeaten. FR also have Marky and there co captain is Petey and these two need to be on the ball to really help FR into a playoff position where they can as i predicted in the odds challenge the likes of LPL, SP and PFN for the WPC World Cup.
Players in form
DS_drunken_bastard - saved a match last week and has been in good form.
FR_Adambuddy - I think FR's best player by some distance and will need to win for FR to stand any chance
Players out of form
DS_judge.0000 - I hope Roy can bring his 'A' game with him this week and rediscover his form that made him play so well in UIC.
FR_ll_eskimo_ownage_ll - Petey will need to play better than what he does against me altho i see him having a good season iw ill be interested to see which petey turns up.
Key Men
FR_zl_piles_lz - This is a big game for ashley can he prove his dream pool season was no fluke?
DS_lager_drinking_freak - A important game here for Rick how will he use his men/woman?
Odds
DS - 5/4F
Draw - 3-1
FR - 2-1
Prediction
4-2 DS
Match 2
Latino Pool Legends @ Pool Cuez
Date and Time: Monday 17th November @ 7pm
Location: Snookered
Two undefeated teams! PCZ got a 6-0 win by DQ last week and have a great squad of players available, with the likes of Pommy, no.skillz, Heather and Derrick. To be honest i feel PCZ would have steam rollered DC last week even if they could have played. LPL should have lost to SP last week but the SP captain had forgot to sign up to the WPC ladder so a 4-2 win became a 3-3 draw. However i dont see a DQ for that reason again this week and i am told that the teamthat played LPL was not there strongest team yet the Reigning Champions could only manage a 3-3 lucky draw with them. Anyway back to the match in hand and it sees LPL away to Pool Cuez in Snookered andis being reffed by me and LPL will have some problems here and PCZ really do have a good squad and a good team with the likes of Pommy and crozzy if he has his games in will be VITAL for Danielle if she and PCZ are going to challenge the WPC champions. LPL have the same team that won this last seasona nd will again come very close to winning this one. Player_dude and k0rb3n will again be very important for Tino. LPL moved to second favourites at 5-1 with there draw with SP last week and the fact that both FR and PFN didnt play. PCZ moved to 11-1 from 18-1 proving i severly underestimated them preseason.
Players in form
LPL - Korban and player dude are the two players who got to the allstars last season and will hope to again this season.
PCZ - Pommy has played so well in the other interleagues for TPL and i dont see it changing for PCZ this season
Players out of form
LPL - Chex i havent seen for a while and i am sure he will be rusty, he also had a dodgy WPC World Cup too so will be interesting to see if he will play anywhere near his best
PCZ - no.skillz is a very very good player but will need to show he still has the game to challenge
Odds
LPL - 2-1F
Draw - 4-1
PCZ - 3-1
Prediction
PCZ to take this 4-2
Match 3
Magic Pool @ High Timez
Date and Time: Tuesday 18th November @ 7pm
Location: Aneurysm
What a start for both teams, for different reasons ofcourse! HT had a dream debut in season 3 of WPC by outplaying and beating LS very convincingly 5-1 and they looked very impressive. HT have a couple of very good players to, in yvettechen2001 and also wv420man. They were very good against LS and thougherly deserved there win as did MP deserve there drubbing to CM. CM beat them with 5 players 4-2 and most offered cam. CM have a very good player in Enabled. This will be a very tight close match where jordy and his men will definatly need to improve and play a lot better than they did last week. Ian, Mike, jordy himself and Jane must bring there 'A' game with them as once HT get a sniff of the win they will take itand i see HT having a run to the playoffs at the moment. Mark has a largish squad to choose from but will definately need yvonne, himself and wv420man to really perform like they did aginst against LS where for all intense and purposesshould have won 6-0 and not 5-1 like the score was. This was because chris and myself were absolutely awful in my opinion. HT have had there odds slashed from 22-1 to 11-1 and yvonne will be around 12-1 for MVP as will wv420man. MP drift from 12-1 to 16-1 outsiders for WPC as they need to improve greatly. MVP will be difficult for most of MP except look out for Ian.
Players in form
MP - Ian has got his form back and is playing well
HT - Yvonne is by far the best player i think HT have to offer from what i have seen
Players out of form
MP - Jordy and Mike have let it slip lately i hope they regain there form
HT - Chris is out of form and needs to get it back to stand a chance of featuring for Mark i feel and as Co Capt will no doubt wanna put last weeks performance out of his head
Key men
MP - Ian has been in great form
HT - Yvonne has also played very well lately
Odds
HT - 2-1F
Draw - 5-1
MP - 4-1
Match 4

SS started with a draw last week against DS with craig choking big style with a clinch opportunity but he potted the 8 in early and SS had to settle for a draw. LS got HAMMERED! when i asked bev what she thought of the match she simply replied "we was very unlucky" but i disagree i thought HT was value for the win and LS including me were very poor. So onto the match in question, SS have the better form, however in Tony, Raymie, Chris, Me and Simon LS have the stronger players. SS have Steven, Shee and Scotty himself who will IF the bring there 'A' game to the table on wednesday will bounce challenge a LS team looking to bounce back from the bad defeat last week. These two team both have outside chances of lifting the WPC World Cup and LS who started last week at 8-1 3rd Favourites have now gone right out to 12-1 and SS are edged out a point to 11-1 too from 10s.
Players in form
Chris for LS if played is one of the best LS have to offer and he is class
Steven and Shee for SS are also very good for there team and willdo a job if asked
Players out of form
The whole LS team that played last week couldnt have played any worse and they will bounce back LS hopes this week
Craig for SS will need to refocus after throwing away a win for his team last week
Key Men
LS - BEV will need to get together a team that can win this week to make sure they dont lose early ground
SS - Steven is a awesome player who will always try his hardest and will win most the matches he has to play
Odds
LS - 2-1
Draw - 2-1

LOOK BACK AT WEEK 1
Week one is in the book then and it was a first week of surprises! The first match went the way i thought with SS tieing 3-3 with DS. The SS captain Scotty when asked how he summed up the first week for SS, answered 'its been Pretty exciting first week, few little bits of drama .. but all in all its been a good first week, not just for me but for SS aswell top of expo and alot of members signed up, even with the match i was expecting some drama when the "coaching" rule was brought up, but it was a nice clean match alot of fun, although i didnt get to play im hoping i can get my 1st match in against LS.. 3-3 draw with DS wasnt result i wanted but a fair one. so im pretty please with how things have went', However DS thought they should have won the match and claimed his DS team was very unlucky not to win. I personally think a 3-3 tie was fair.
Match 2 was DC vs PCZ and this was over just as quick as it started with PCZ gaining a 6-0 bye win however now neale is back expect to see DC surge up the standings. Week 2 vs GPC(more on them later) is going to show the rest if DC can challenge.
On tuesday we had two clean matches one not surprisingly close match and one surprising rout. Lets start witht he latter as i played in it. HT was up against LS and this was ogges match of the week(in other words he was assigned it and made it look very good) and he did a great job reffing and writing a report on it. HT are a good side but they came up against a very dissapointing LS side and i am sure LS will lengthen in the odds when they are released tomorrow. HT have a couple of excellent players and i think could push for the playoffs.
LPL and SP shared the spoils which was always a possability so therefore they will start behind GPC at the start of next week.
CM played MP on wednesday and what looked on paper as a easy win for MP turned into a rout for CM. CM bought just 5 players but had it sealed on the 5th where they had already got the draw by the 4th. MP is back to the drawing board and CM can they go on fromt his i think so.
GPC got a bye win and there will be a replacement in for PS by next week

Week One Match Review: LS @ HT
Match One: HT_Chris094 vs. LS_jasonlippi01234 – my first match back as a ref would see HT’s co-captain refuse a cam request from LS’ new lead-off man Jason. As I mentioned in my build-up to this match, High-Timez are a no safety league and I was concerned they would not appreciate the tactical side of the game. However Chris had no trouble adjusting to the safety style inter-league game, and resorted to snookering himself on occasion, forcing ball-in-hand from Jason once or twice. Jason would rush a few shots and due to the open nature of his break this lead to Chris being left a couple of openings. Chris doesn’t have the accuracy to make him pay, and after missing 4 clear opportunities to run the rack out, Jason would eventually regain his composure and run the simple table, fairly tidily (barring one shot :p), putting LS 1-0 in-front.
Match Two: HT_yvettechen2001 vs. LS_xxx_cannon_fodder_xxx - Yvette breaks off and quickly gets to work on sinking some balls before playing safe and winning herself a ball-in-hand. She’d begin another attempted run, of which the key shot would appear to be the tremendous long yellow she made to free her last ball and put the rack at her mercy. Despite this, a missed purple to the middle on her last ball before 8 gave Cannon the advantage back. The only thing left in Cannon’s way would be a “rookie mistake” which, by his own admission, he would go on to make and hand Yvette the game on a silver platter – she obliged and put HT back on level-pegging. 1-1.
Match Three: HT_wv420man vs. LS_luckyshots_tony – a relatively open break from Tony allows him to sink a couple of solids and play safe. After a short exchange Tony worked himself a half-chance at the run, and after some neat shots, he is left with a tough bank on his green solid to the middle. By failing to get the right english, a double kiss occurs and the initiative is handed to 420, Robbie or Boo as a lot of people will remember him as. He makes hard work of the run and after misjudging a positional shot that was intended to send the cue ball around the table and towards the 8 and his 9 ball, he is left with a long shot on his one remaining ball. He totally nails the 9, and despite him being so close to the 8 that I thought it was going to cause him a problem, he makes light work of that too, and pulls HT to a one game advantage. 2-1.
Match Four: HT_my_sticks_crocked vs. LS_im_just_jeremy – this game started off with a fairly safe break and neither player, especially Jeremy, seemed to want to go for any kind of run. Eventually, my_stick or Adam, would go for a run, sink a few of his balls, and eventually scratch while sinking one of Jeremy’s. This would then prompt Jeremy to go for the run, which to me never, really, looked like happening. When he did end up missing, there was no hanging around as Adam sank his 4 balls and the 8 in world record speed, potting all 5 balls in less than 2.3 seconds, firing HT into a 3-1 lead.
Match Five: HT_Chase_70 vs. LS_snow.queen333 – crunch time for LS and Bev makes the brave decision to call herself. A tap-break would be her selection and both players would proceed in a tactical exchange, which Bev would seemingly have the upper-hand in – she would find herself in the advantageous position of her opponent having sunk 3 of his balls in comparison to her none, while neither player was offered a clear run at them. Rather than looking to gain a BIH, she decided to try the run at this point, (even though two of her balls were tied up). She would miss early on, handing the momentum over to Chase. He would start a run but realise it wasn’t on, and eventually decided to listen to the dubious coaching of his captain, who advised him to combo one of his balls in an attempt to make one of Bev’s. As far as I could see, it wouldn’t have achieved anything anyway, but he executed the shot incorrectly, and failed to make Bev’s ball. This then ensued a bout of attempted runs and misses that lasted for nearly 5 minutes, before Bev finally found herself with a shot on the 8, albeit a difficult one. The full length of the table separated the cue ball and 8, as she just managed to cut it along the left rail and into the bottom pocket, but in doing so sent the cue ball plummeting into the top right bag, gifting the match to HT, 4-1.
Match Six: HT_l3ooty_lovin_l3oy vs. LS_simon.kitto – an irrelevant game here saw Simon go for the early run, and he very nearly played it to perfection. He ran all 7 of his spots before leaving a moderately difficult, but makeable bank on the 8 that he would end up putting narrowly wide. This would leave the HT skipper with an almost un-missable opportunity to clear off the table, and he didn’t let his team down as he put the icing on the cake for the debutant league, sending LS home with a 1-5 drubbing to think about.
Having seen Jeremy and Simon both turn up for Lucky Shots and then crash to a 1-5 defeat against league that is new to WPC, I have to say, I was very surprised. No one, including Jason, brought their A-game to the table for LS tonight, and as well as Tonz not being there, that is why they have started the season with a loss. Only so many slip-ups can be afforded throughout the season, so if LS wanna be part of the post-season they will have to pick up the slack and fast.
As for High-Timez, they gave a very good account of themselves tonight, playing very well on the most part, being very well prepared for the start of the match, causing no controversy and they clearly have a half-decent shooter in Boo. They took advantage of a lot of LS errors tonight and I’d be surprised if they were presented with such easy games consistently throughout the season, but if they can play well like this all season and bring 6 guys to the table each week, who’s to say they can’t make it to the play-offs?
It was a pleasure reffing this match and if all the ones I do are at 6 or 7 and go this swimmingly I should be able to finish my write-up afterwards and get it posted on the same night. VGLIR of season to both leagues, and I should have my analysis of the match I’m doing next week (Monday’s DS @ FR, I think) up by Friday. In a bit. Ogges.

In Depth Look to the First Two Matches on Monday
So lets start and look at the first match of the day. That is to be reffed by Mark AKA l3adboy from High Timez. It's to be played at Baby Come On Home and is Straight Shots up against Deadstrokes. Straight Shots had a very good kickoff tourney topping the scoring charts and had a semi finallist in the_pool.scorpion and i would expect him to stay in for SS for the 6v6. I would also like to think Steven will play as i regard him as one of SS best players. SS do have a big squad to choose from and I feel this is vital for a league to do well in. I see craig, if his temperment is good this season really excelling but he knows more than anyone that he can be good but my god he can be bad! Superstar is also another player who is very talented and this looks like a good season for SS.
They play Dead Strokes who there captain is Rick and he was the MVP of WPC season 2 and is rightly joint favourite with Jamie from PFN for the MVP of season 3. DS have Scotty_Who and Roy AKA Judge.0000, these two need big seasons along with rick to stand a chance of going further than the first round of the playoffs. DS are a good side but do they have what it takes to match the likes of Freedom, Luckyshots and Straight Shots. I personally think they will beat one of them teams but i think they could slip up to a High Timez team or Magic Pool who have been very Quiet in the build up this season.
In conclusion this match will be extremely close and will have momentum swings but as i said in my original shorter post it will be a lock out and 3-3
Match Odds
Straight Shots 2-1
Draw 4-1
Dead Strokes 3-1
Well i was going to leave it at that but as i have found out new things about each of these next two teams that play on monday so lets look in depth at both teams.
The match is Devine Cuez at Pool Cuez. The battle of the Cuez and i see only one winner. Devine Cuez are in transition however they have lately picked up some really classy players with the likes of Conners (l31) who was in for EPL until they bit the dust. I would say he is one of there best 4 players but not the best player available to Neale that honour goes to Goodwooter as long as he shows up but i feel he might show. Now i know some people wont agree ith me but this is my blog :P. Ok who else do DC have, Jeanna has a lot of class too and will be vital to Neale. Neale has picked up Paul (omy), Uslander and vortexglider_77uk but this week they will need help as they play a stacked PCZ side.
PCZ is WOW they have Pommy(who hasnt signed up yet), Croz, Heather, Ta.lent and derrick. What can you say! This is one of the teams to watch and although there in the harder conference I am sure they will be near the top 3 this season as long as the likes of Croz and pommy plays most week. I see PCZ seriously challenging the likes of PFN and LPL for the WPC World Cup but i do feel at 18-1 i have over priced them. PCZ will work so hard to defeat the BIG teams and make them feel small and i see them easily winning this as long as they stack there team just like Danielle told me they would and they will say to the rest 'this is us beat us if you can'
they will win this 4-2 or maybe 5-1.
Odds
Devine Cuez 4-1
Draw 6-1
Pool Cuez 5-4
There you have the long versions of the first two matches this week enjoy reading them!
