PFN vs SS the Showdown!

Hello and welcome to my first post on Sports Scene this season. I want to welcome WPC Freak, Mr Know It All and Heather to the Sports Scene team. This week I will concentrate on one match, PFN vs SS. This match will be a very intriguing as SS are starting to lose a few decent players in Shan and Nick and Nish. They do however have Tonz and Pas to back these people leaving up. Pool Fiction DOMINATED the EXPO this past week and with players like Brent, Lewis, Miz and Co. they will take some beating this week. Straight Shots however have a great chance to do it aslong as they show with there A game and get a bit of luck on the way. Pool Fiction have probably the best team in WPC this season (Only MP and X8B could contend with it at the moment in WPC) and that should see them through this tricky tie this week.

Well, I wasn't going to do predictions this week but MR KIA has started some competition between us and is bugging me to get them done so here they are.. Enjoy :]

I thought this would be a fairly easy match for Freedom, but I would say that now simply because I do not know Evil Poolerz team.
I would say Freedom would bring this one home.

Magic Pool vs Dead Strokes
Tuesday, March 2nd

I think this will be a fairly easy match for MP considering the players they have and the players DS have. However, DS will be wanting to catch a win after losing to SPS last week, will they do it? I don't MP will give them a chance. With all the hatred that MP have had with me they will be out to make me look like a fool. This is going to be a tough match for DS.

Extreme Pool Competitors vs. Money In The Bank
Wednesday, March 3rd

MIB are the better team in this match. Honestly it could go either way, I don't see MIB having many(if any) DQs. Jack will show up with the best he can get and I don't think that team will take him far. If Jack wants to beat teams like the better MIB team he will need to build his team up and make them stronger. This is any easy-ish win for MIB.

Pool Fiction vs. Straightshots
Thursday, March 4th

What a match! I would say SS's team has gotten a big weaker since the past few seasons. I don't think they have what it takes to take on a STRONG PFN team, but I could be wrong. Shelle must show here with her strongest team and hopefully pull off a win. With the fight I expect from SS I don't think that will be on a win this week for them, although it may be close. PFN takes it.

Simply Pool Souls vs Extreme 8 Ball
Thursday, March 4th

These 2 teams met up last week in pro and SPS gave up a good fight but just weren't able to defeat X8B's home team. This week in WPC SPS have the home field advantage and should snatch it up and run if they want to pull off a win. With the right players SPS could pull off a win here but in order to do so their players have to be ON FIRE. Otherwise X8B will take this win home with them. It will be a tight match.

FR is STUNNED!

Match 1, EP calls XKILLAX666. Petey calls himself the 2nd week in a row. The party starts with a break by KILLA. After some decent shots and a failed run by Killa, Petey steps up to the plate. Petey tries to run but leave a funky spot on the 13 he still nails it with what looks like ease. Petey finishes off the table and shows why he is UIC mvp. 1-0 FR, FR starts their 2nd match of the season with their 1st lead of WPC6.

Match 2, EP calls DES2000, Ebs is then called by FR. Ebs gets the break and taps. Des tries to make a combo to start off the match but fails on nipple. Ebs then makes her combo on 4-13 ending up with stripes. She sees a run and gets her jogging shoes on. Ebs nails her red and bangs out the only tricky shot she had left. All she needs to do is make her 9 and 10. She does make her 9 but gets a nasty spot on her 10. Des eventually decides to run it nailing 6 of his 7 solids but rings his last. Ebs is left with a long 10 shot. She is torn on angle but determines she has the right choice, shoots it in. Her luck isn't nearly as good as she would hope, some-how-some-way she snooks 8 by 6. Des just bangs it out and Ebs has a long 8 shot, she fails on it and DES clears 6 and 8 ftw. What a rough match, both players had the chance to pull it out and Des ended up with the upper hand 1-1 tie.

Match 3, EP calls BAD_73 and FR calls Hope. Bad makes some balls to start out match but taps next to his 10 when he is left with no options. Hope sees a run and she sticks herself 4 balls in with a challenging combo, she fails. Bad tries to run the open table but sticks himself with no possible shot on his final ball, somehow he gets the cue surrounded by Hopes balls. After some funny shots by both parties Hope comes out with a good setup and finishes off table. Hope plays another decent match helping FR regain the lead. This will stay in FR's hands from here on out, or will it? 2-1 FR.

Match 4, SuNsHiNe_girl_333 is called for EP. FR calls Ella, she starts off potting the 6 on break followed by the 10 on her 2nd shot. Ella recognizes she can not finish her run and snooks potting Sun's 3. after a snook exchange, Sun decides to try a run. She nails her 1, 2, and 5. Sun gives up run and tries to snook but ends up opening table for Ella. Ella takes her last chance, instead of trying to fit her 9 in tm she goes for tl. That fatal error seals her doom. 2-2 tie, this is jumping back and forth. Will Ash get a chance at clinch? "It isn't curtain," my magic 8ball says.

Match 5, EP calls xbang.bangx69. Petey calls Tim for FR. This match goes fast, back and forth by both parties tell Tim has the easy run. He makes an effort but cue runs to long. Bang finishes off the table for EP's first lead of WPC6. 3-2 EP, what a frustrating game for Tim he had it in his grasp. This match is looking like a tie with Ash coming up next.

Match 6, EP calls spanish_selena. FR calls Ashie, Ash opens table on break and shortly after tries to run out a very tough table. He fails on his last ball and tries a snook. The snook looked good but Selena busts out a shot. Selena's left with a clear table and what looks like a curtain Victory for EP. Sadly Selena sinks cue and Ash does what he should have earlier, clears out the rest. FR are left with a disappointing draw, 3-3.


This match could have been chalked up as a loss due to a bigger-than-usual guide ball or because EP are really diamonds in the rough. I think it is partly because EP played better than expected and FR played below what was expected. In the end we see a flip-flopping match finishing even-steven. Wtg EP on breaking into WPC with a tie! We all cant wait to see where you guys are going to end up around playoff time :).
