Week 8 and look at tables

Welcome to week 8 of WPC and with Kev coming back from his busy schedule this looks to be the last week all the tables will be on the blog thank god! It was a interesting week last week. Draws for CM and DS, X8B and SP also drew 3-3. PFN won 4-2 to stay unbeaten as do HT who got the 6-0 win as ORP didnt show up and are now out. LPL also scraped 4-2 past Pool Dragonz. So lets look at the weekly tables.

Ok so lets look at the playoff picture as its at the half way point, and lets start with PFN being the run away leaders and will take some beating for the rest of the season. Cubby, Oggie and Stu have played so well this season, I cant see anyone catching this team. X8B will take the second seed this season they have the players and have shown enough this season to maybe challenge PFN. Third witht here draw moved Sexy Poolerz taking the place and making the most of Rank Monsters defeat to move into a third place and i see them consolidating. The last spot however is a dog fight between the champions of last year LPL and Rank Monster the pretenders.I fancy LPL to take it but Rank Monster can prove me wrong.

In the Western Conference Lucky Shots defeated a resilliant Magic pool team to extend there lead to 3 points over the undefeated High Timez team and that is the match that will help decide it next week LS vs HT. Third place is CM and they need to really win the matches they drew then they would still be at the top like at the start of the season. Them 3 will be there at end in the playoffs. Dead Strokes, Straight Shots and Magic Pool will want to get that 4th play off spot. SS are still in with a chance despite not even winning yet but DS have lost a few more than i think they would of liked. MP can steal it but i doubt it. Lets look at next weeks match ups.

Match 1

Dead Strokes @ Straight Shots

This is one important match up for both teams here. Straight Shots find themselves with out a win this season but yet are something like just 2 points behind a Dead Strokes team which i expect to take the last playoff place. Wheather Roy or Rick Captains there is always a good solid team bought to each match and they can count themselves unlucky not to have beat Cue Masters last week. If Roy, Rick and Scotty shows up then i dont see a problem for this DS side. SS will have other ideas, Nigel will always bring a strong team from the squad of player he has, its huge! If SS show up with a on form Steven they will challenge here.

He wont like me for saying this but Nigel if he plays will really have to up his game as will Rick if he plays as hes had very little pool lately.

Men to Watch:

This is a tough one this week. With these two team there could be a different Captain so i will say who ever the Captains are will be the ones to watch

Prediction:

Tough match to predict, DS and SS are draw kings and I am going to say a DS win I think they have the better team.

Here we have a interesting match up here, yes its a wierd match of the week but i see a BIG upset here that will bring X8B back to the chasing pack. True Champs have a good solid team led by Richard(maddeviluk) with the likes of Dawn and Mike in. TC started with a draw against Pool Dragonz and now they play the team in second place. What can i say about the new team X8B now i have seen them play? They are very strong but yet very unpredictable. Adambuddy is obviously there best alongside xllx_rob_xllx. The magician is there captain and he need not take TC for granted here this is going to be a big defining game in the race for the play ofs. If TC win it then the likes of LPL, SP and RM will love them for ever.

Mike and Dawn for TC and for X8B rob is in good form of late.

Adam has looked shakey in the interleague play latey as has xpac for TC.

Key Men:

Well key to X8B's success has to be adam he is important for them as is Rob. TC need to all perform to the maximum to gain a result here.

Prediction:

As you can see this is the upset special 4-2 to TC, I dont know why i just have this feeling.

The rematch! Lucky Shots want blood this week as they come up against the only UNDEFEATED TEAM in the Western Conference Hight timez. This has all the makings of a classic. HT stuffed LS 5-1 in the very first game of the seasona nd in reality it set HT up for this amazing unbeaten run that only PFN can beat in the other conference. Hight Timez with the likes of Chris, Hoochified and there most important player of all Mickey will need to bring there strongest six players to give this LS team who apart from that defeat have gone on a great little run of there owna nd are now sitting pretty at the top with HT in second because HT have drew far too many. Can Bev bring 6 strong players i would say so.

Chris is slacking again and can Bev win if she plays.

Mickey for HT will guide his team through and no doubt take the coaching role and use the rules. For LS with simon boxed can Chris step up to the plate and carry his team home?

I'm going to go against my own team here I just somehom think that HT are going to go the season undefeated. 4-2 HT

Match 4

Pool Dragonz @ Rank Monster

Important game on here for Rank Monster. They have been slacking of late and to keep in the playoffs they have to start winning again. Brian, Brad and Sable need to start showing they can take the wins when there there on a plate for them. They come up aginst a PDZ team where i never know what to predict! The only good prediction is that they will always play YPool the way it should be played. The most politest league in WPC bar NONE. They have a few good players too, Ace is a good player, RBL_outlaw and ash is a good player. I see another shock here because RM can really underestimate there opponents and I feel they will this match too.

So what do I make of one of the top teams in CM playing one of the poorer teams this season in MP? Well this is the only interleague MP has not got right since they won it way back in season 1, infact since season 1 they have had ONE win and that was a bye win. With players like Jordy, Ian, Jcm, Joe and Mike they should be doing a damn site better. In CM you have there good captain Lisa with players like you_might_lose, Cuenoob and there best player Enabled. CM lost second place last week with the 3-3 draw at Dead Strokes hands but i dont see that this week they are still strong and this season MP have been weak.

Enable for CM is always nearly a win and jcm is in amazing form

Players out of form:

Lisa needs to play more like the beginningof the season for her team as does Mike and Ian if they do then they could drag a draw out of CM.

Prediction:

This will be a 5-1 or 4-2 win to CM and they put the pressure back on the top two teams.

Match 6

Sexy Poolerz @ Latino Pool Legends

Date and Time: Wednesday 21st January @ 7pm

This is a big match for both teams here. SP have got there noses in front of RM and will want to stay there! LAst seasons Champions are struggling and are only in 5th place and will need to get past a stubborn Rank Monster team. This match will be tight. King will need his big hitters, like Ketan, Ste and King himself to show up and play very well thi sis going to be a close match. LPL need there strongest 6 to keep in touch with the top 4 more than anything once LPL sneak into place offs its very hard to knock them out.

Tino is in form along with Cheeeeeex. As is King and Ketan.

Players out of Form:

Only one i can think of if she plays for LPL is Mary

Key Men:

Tino and King for sure, who will pick the better players to play?

Odds:

SP - 3-1

Prediction:

I see this fizzling into a draw and both teams being back to square 1.

Week 7 of WPC and a look at the tables

Hello and Welcome to another edition of Sports Scene. Last week was very interesting there was some big wins, almost a upset and a boxing. Lets look back at last weeks matches first. There were two match reports so I wont talk about CM vs LS or the PFN vs LPL. SP thumped TC 5-1 on monday and it was the SP that looked good again. SP need to be on form this week for sure to keep in the hunt for that all important playoff place which im still sure they can steal. The Two matches on Tuesday were High Times vs Straight Shots and HT had a chance to close on the 2 leaders CM and LS as they played each other but it didnt go well I was present for this match and SS should of won all SIX for HT to steal 3 off a very well played SS team it was a good result in the end for HT and SS still look for there debut win in WPC. X8B joined WPC and played Pool Dragonz who at one point looked like rocking the new team, however X8B pulled out the win 4-2 to keep up the pressure on Pool Fiction. Magic Pool Claimed there first win of WPC with a 6-0 timeout win over ORP. They should kick on from here and hopefully get into the playoffs which is where a team like MP deserve to be. I'm sure RM and DS would find the standings good viewing now with not having to play last week. Lets take a look.

So as you can see HT are still undefeated along with PFN although PFN have played 5 and won 5 and HT have played 5 won 2 and drew 3. HT moved Stays in 3rd place tho behind LS and CM whose only lose this season has been to HT. It's hotting up in the Western Division it looks like a 3 way fight for the title with DS, SS and MP challenging for the last playoff spot this weeks games are going to be absolutely VITAL. The Eastern conference is also hotting up. With PFN's win over LPL they have pushed LPL out of the Playoff positions. SP grab the 4th spot and RM even with there week off last week hold on to 3rd. PFN are flying and will win the conference, X8B will need to keep strong and make sure Rob and Adam can play each week. Lets look at this weeks Predictions.

Match 1

Cue Masters @ Dead Strokes

Date and Time: Monday 12th January @ 7pm

So what exactly do I make of Dead Strokes? They have been hit and miss this season I feel. At this moment in time they currently lie 4th and to hold off the challenge of SS and MP they need to be strong this week and show up with eligable players. Rick was ineligable last time out against MP and he really needs to be there and perform to his standards he knows he can get to. DS look a safe bet to reach playoffs, however they play a CM side with the likes of Lukas, Lisa and cydjabbo. CM should finish in the top 3 and have along with HT been the surprise of this season. If CM show up witht he form they had when they started WPC, they can beat DS here.

DS have Scotty playing well at the moment and for CM watch for Enabled

Lisa and Rick need to show witht he 'A' Games this week

Key Men:

Roy for DS, he is the rock of DS and will need to win for DS to stand a chance.

I like CM to go on and win this week, to give LS and HT a scare in the race for number 1. 4-2 CM

Match 2

Rank Monster @ Pool Fiction

Is there any chance of a upset here in this match? In my opinion NO. PFN have swept all teams aside this season in there unbeaten run which now stretches 5 matches. Kev has assembled a team that could go the whole season undefeated but Rank Monster will have something to say about that. Brian has got his RM team sitting high in 3rd place and apparently relishing the trip the the Bad Times Arena. If PFN show up with Kerry, Sean and Stu then RM will struggle as PFN have great depth this season and with the apparent arrival of Pommy into the PFN squad for WPC it looks a for gone conclusion. It is a good first match for Steven to ref in my opinion.

I cant see any really out of form as such.

Key Men:

Brian is very important for RM and Stu needs to come with his 'A' if hes called upon this week.

Match 3

Magic Pool @ Lucky Shots

This is going to be one interesting match. Do you count MP's win last week as a proper win or do they still need to show they can win a match when all 6 players from another team show up. If MP want to get intot he playoff picture they have to cause a upset and show WPC they ar ehere to reclaim back the title they lost in season 1. If Jordy can bring his best 6 to the table I still think a full strength LS team will do there job and beat MP. However if LS turn up and take MP lightly then MP can shock LS and if Ian and Mike and Jordy all turn up on form then LS will need to be on there best form to get a win but i see it happening.

Players in Form:

Chris and justin(canuck) are on form for Lucky Shots along with simon. For MP Mick and Ian will have to show up and play well for MP to stand a chance.

Players out of form:

Bev hasnt really played herself in WPC and some People are wondering if shes out of form.

Key Men:

Jordy will need to call his players very well to give MP a chance of winning. For LS can Chris show up and win like he so normally does for LS in all interleagues.

Going on the form book in WPC MP have had one win by timer LS have lost once and that was way back in week 1 so i will go for LS 5-1 here.

Match of the week billing goes to this interesting little match up between new boy X8B and SP. SP fresh from hammering TC 5-1 last week will feel they can reach the playoffs now and no doubt want to catch the likes of X8B and RM. It is possable that those two teams could faulter. However X8B have a strong lineup on the looks of last weeks team and although they were a little bit shakey they beat PDZ and with players like the magician, Adam and Rob they look liek they will retain atleast a playoff spot. SP on the other hand with players like Katen, Ste and King also have a strong lineup and with Danny able to play wherever hes asked i can see a big upset this week.

Players in Form.

Danny and Adam for SP and X8B respectively will need to continue playing really well.

Players out of Form:

Ketan I feel in interleagues has been playing a bit within himself lately.

Key Men:

Both captains are the key men this week and will need to think very very carefully on who to pick and where to pick them.

Date and Time: Wednesday 14th January @ 7pm

The last match of the week is LPL vs PDZ and with PDZ you always know you will get a good honest match and although they might not be in LPL's league as in players go, PDZ will give there all and if LPL underestimate them then last weeks loss to PFN will become a loss to PDZ too. Can Tino bring his 'A' team this week? Can PDZ bring a team capable of beating LPL? i will answer yes to the first and no to the second butit wont stop PDZ from trying.

Rbl_outlaw for PDZ has done well lately as for the LPL team look out for Player dude or chex to carry the can.

Although shes not played in WPC this season yet Mary is not in the best of form.
For PDZ ash needs to up his game.

Rbl_outlaw is so important for PDZ and will need to inspire his team to win this week.
For LPL Tino needs to get his team back to winning ways andim sur ehe can.

Yes by looking at the odds you knwo who I think is going to win LPL 5-1 or 6-0.
