Wednesday and Thursday Picks

Okay Jason done Monday and Tuesday's picks this week so I'm left with the last few matches of week 6. I'm not predicting the PFN match since I've been away all weekend and don't no what team, if any, I'm gonna be able to get together. I'll start off with the match I ref later on:

8BC @ TC, Wed @ 6pm - This seems like a pretty obvious one. TC have a few good players on their side and if anything are under-achieving with 8 points from 5 games this season. Pom has played well so far as you'd expect, but players like Itchy l3alz and Mike I imagine will look to also kick on themselves and improve their records. I don't know a lot about the 8BC team but to be fair it's not looking like anyone is having a stand out season so far. With 2 draws and 3 losses this season a point would likely be a welcome one for 8BC at the end of this match. I think a fair few of the TC players might be a little bit too good for this 8BC team and it's really a match they should be winning. I'll take 5-1 TC.

LS @ EC, Wed @ 6pm - This match is probably a little harder to predict and could be a close one. Despite the whole situation with EC having a win reversed last week, the SS match is the only thing I have to go on with them, and since they did manage to beat a fairly good side (albeit with one illegal win) I can't really rule EC out here. On the other hand, LS aren't having a bad season, but aren't having the greatest seasons as of yet either. Emmitt, Tonz and particularly Jeremy seem to be having half decent starts and Jason has got some of his players playing quite well. Without doubt they'll want to push towards the top of the Premiership Conference and seal a play-off spot, and this is the kinda match they need to get 3 points from to do that, 4-2 LS.

MP @ SS, Thur @ 7pm - Another possibly tricky match. Looking down the SS player stats page it's clear to see they've got a wealth of interleague players, and due to the fact they regularly have a lot of bodies in the Expo on Fridays, some of them must be fairly experienced. I don't know too many of them but judging by their records this far they're going very well (with 4 wins and 1 draw). MP aren't having quite as impressive a season with 3 wins and 2 losses, but recently have seemed to be picking up again on the interleague stage, and you can never really put it past them to sneak a win out of nowhere. Ian and Mike have played well so far, but need support from other players if MP are gonna secure a play-off spot come the end of the season. 3-3.

Tuesday Matches

Well last night i was spot on with a 4-2 win for LPL that was closer than it looked. LPL only had 5 players but got the job done. They now keep the pressure on Lucky Shots and True Champs in the Premiership Division and the question I will ask is can UO hold on to 4th place and reach the playoffs.

So tonight a free win for GR as there is no team to replace TPL yet. And due to some interesting things coming to light SS are now awarded a draw in the EC vs SS match due to some eligability issues for EC.

So the one and only match tonight is Xtreme 8 Ball player Sexy Poolerz in Alive to be reffed by me.

This will be a interesting match up as X8B at this moment in time are missing out on the playoffs with Ultimate Outlaws 2 points ahead. Now this will most probably change but they cant take X8B for granted here today as they are now getting back the ketan's, Pascal's and others who just aint been around. I have no idea who will captain but this has the makings of a tight match and a possable shock. Who will win? lets go for a shock and say Sexy Poolerz get back on top with a big win 4-2.

Ogges will do tomorrows and thursdays predictions and expect the audio for next week on saturday. take it easy WPC

Week 6 WPC Predictions

So I thought a blogged write up would be better than a audio this week just to mix it up a little bit.

Week 5 was very interesting. I will get my rants out as I get to the matches. So here goes, Match 1 was a very interesting Magic Pool vs Lucky Shots match up. Two teams in completely different form. In MP we had a team in form, players like Ash, Mike and Joe have really played well. Mike sitting at 3-1 is there stand out player but ash missed out on a save last week to me. That was my second clinch out of 2 and this season is now changing for the better for Lucky Shots. In Aaron they have picked up a good shooter who will go from strength to strength. Annie again can be great or be just plain ugly. Then the regular like Simon, Chris and Raymie when he plays can turn games around for Lucky Shots. Lucky Shots deserved there win last week.

Match 2 on monday last week was interesting for all the wrong reasons as Ultimate Outlaws came firing out of the blocks and beat a TPL team who's league is dead anyway. There was one or two accusations but nothing to bad and it dont matter now anyway as they have withdrew.

Tuesday saw just one match and it was the hopeless Sexy Poolerz team taking on a 8 Ball Crushers side who are just starting to regain there form. To be fair to SP they played very very well considering. They had back the likes of Ketan and Pascal. But you know this 8BC bandwagon just keeps on rolling and with a 3-3 draw it help 8BC more in my view than sp.

Wednesday saw two of the favourites for WPC in action. BNR played Xtreme 8 Ball and Straight Shots were away to new boys Extreme Cues. It started off very well for both as Craig beat Mitch to make SS go one up and Tan(x_therage) beat James(i_lost_my_marblez). This is where the fun started, Break And Run went from strength to strength. Daymo beat Ben in a good match up, Trump was outclassed by Ross, to make it 2-1 to BNR. Over in AMU and matches 2 and 3 for SS didnt quite go to plan, precious_ashley defeated SS debutee stonssy in what can only be described as a epic. Ashley did not give Stonssy a shot. So with SS in slight trouble news got back to the BNR game that it was 1-1. But in WPC when Nigel calls Chris you know his record but he was called to play with surprise EC player Don(darkinc00). Chris pulled it off!! 2-1 to SS as we head into the back end of the matches. Ross defeated u_got_no skillz to atleast garentee the draw with X8B, but no wBNR were hoping for a big win. Mean while in AMU Nigel had called Mike (doo da) to play x.phenom. This was always going to be interesting and both Craig and Mike have awful attitude problems online. This was no exception for Mike. x.phenom played a great game but on the black Mike decided enough was enough he left before the black was down and didnt report and no GG so landed him a 21 day boxing or a 3 game suspension which mean the box could go on for longer. Incidentally he did it again! in IPA interleague. How Nigel puts up with Idiots like Craig and Mike who basically screw up any chance SS will ever have at getting a sportsmanship award baffles me. So bnr lead 3-1 and SS drawing 2-2 and really Mike doing that fucked SS up as the would not win another game. Charlie and Chelle who was previously undefeated lost to Killinrode and Will.power respectively. Will making one sicc bank to see off chelle again there was accusations in the air, this was just a freak one off shot and man did it look good! BNR finised off X8B in the last game after Dan defeated Chip. Adam choked on the 8 trying to save and Palp being the PRO he is finished up so its advantage BNR!

So with that defeat to EC, Pool Fiction had a chance to go second in the Championship Division if they could win over a very strong looking True Champs side. This was a complete anti-climax, as match by match TC were outclassed and outplayed by a PFN team who was captained by Kerry this week as Ogges was ill with a headache. This match was funny to, Kerry won game one and moves to 3-0 with a credit win, shes yet again looking good for all-stars. Match 2 had everyone in stitches, Mario did a tap break against Tam_s0 who just kept potting the white saying I wont get involved in this. Even Pommy said to Mario WHY???? Mario said he new what he was doing, he didnt! and Tam who wasnt even paying attention when Mario was shooting at the start strangely took a easy win. Stu and Lewis finished it off and Jamie even had time to put one over on Pommy. Cubby was the unlucky loser going down to Mike. I think True Champs are good but there not ready to challenge for the WPC World Cup bo3 Series yet but it was a good win for PFN.

The other match LPL defeated a gutsy GR team who went 1-0 but lost 5-1 in the end.

So theres the recap lets move onto the predictions.

Match 1

Latino Pool Legends vs Ultimate Outlaws

Date and Time: Monday 8th June @ 6pm

Room: Logan

This is very interesting. Ultimate Outlaws have shown improvement in the last 2 to 3 weeks. Ok there not near LPL yet but there going in the right direction. If LPL have a off day they could be tripped up here but LPL are having a very good season so far. They lie top of the Premiership on 11 points and I think they are looking good for a solid playoff charge. If they were in the Championship I think they would struggle but there not and as we well know with Tino and his gang he will challenge if they make the playoffs. LPL want there title back.

Score: 5-1 LPL
