XxX !! World Pool Championship !! XxX: 2009-01-25

Welcome to Sports Scene with me, Jason. Firstly I would like to welcome Wet Poolerz to WPC they will take the place of All About Competition and i would like to wish them luck.

Last week was a interesting week! No matches on monday, followed by FOUR on tuesday one was a bye win for DS as AAC like everyone thought would did not show up! That along with Lucky Shotz slaughtering SS 5-1 meant that Dead Strokes takes back that 4th and final playoff spot.

In other matches on Tuesday I have to say WOW!!!!!!!!!! Rank Monster got H-A-M-M-E-R-E-D, yes indeed, I spoke to Maddevil before the match and he told me that they used to share the room with RM before RM went there seperate ways, he had about 15 players wanting to play but the 6 he chose were obviously the right choice. 5-1 TC won and this will hurt RM in there quest for the playoffs.

X8B played LPL on Tuesday too to bring a hectic Tuesday schedule for the admin on duty Rick to a close. X8B had looked a bit shakey since coming in and taking the stats of the second placed team PCZ, However they did LPL over and players like Adambuddy and mr.moustache really showed that they can step up to the plate and answer the questions thrown at them by the other team. X8B took it 4-2 and LPL really need to start winning or the reigning champions will find themselves missout on the playoffs.

So Wednesday looked to be a good double header with PFN taking on a PDZ team that comes along for the ride but dont really expect anything and UNY were playing there first match against High Timez who new a win would take them TOP on Points difference. UNY didnt show, High Timez TOP! 6-0 win in last three weeks HT have hit form they have gone 17-1 in games and are looking good to join PFN in going the whole season unbeaten.

Pool Fiction will be breathing a sigh of relief. Pool Dragonz had there BEST EVER match in WPC on Wednesday they took PFN to the 6th game and PFN were 2 minutes from timingout then Kev calls Pita. Going to be only one winner there PFN too it 4-2 but PDZ are most definatly improving and will need to do the same next weeks.

Now lets look at the fixtures for week 10 of 14

Match 1

Dead Strokes @ High-Timez

Date and Time: Monday 2nd February @ 7pm

Room: Aneurysm

Now this will be A very interesting match, with the playoffs just now 5 playing weeks away theres a lot to play for, for both teams. Dead Strokes are battling with Straight Shots for the final playoff place. They have the edge at the moment but Roy has admitted they have not played to regular DS quality. There still there though in 4th and will look to grimly get something in this game from a very very strong HT team they destroyed LS 2 weeks ago although int he end were lucky not to draw but with players like Robbie(booman), IMHIGHER(Mickey) and yvette they look strong for a win here again.

Players in form:

Roy and Mickey for DS and HT respectively will need to win there corrosponding games to stand any chance of winning this week

Players out of Form:

Booman hasnt been playing to hsi highest standard lately.

Key men:

The captains, Roy will need to call very carefully as Chris has several options all over the team.

Prediction:

Only one winner here HT have been in superb form and will take it 4-2

Match 2

Rank Monster @ Xtreme 8 Ball

Date and Time: Monday 2nd February @ 7pm

Room: Alive

The upset special and match of the week brings a underacheiving RM team who survive in the playoff place for now because LPL cant buy a win at the moment play a strong X8B team looking to hunt down PFN. This is a potential upset, X8B beat LPL brilliantly last week whereas RM lost to a TC team badly they did not show up at all. It wont happen twice in 2 weeks RM will be there this week pumping at the bit to gun down X8B and i feel they will do it.

Adam and brian are in great form.

Players out of Form:

I cant think of anyone.

Key Man:

Adam! He must come to the table and grab a wina nd help his team through

Odds:

X8B - evens F
Draw - 4-1
RM - 3-1

Prediction:

It will be close but my upset special sees RM beat X8B 4-2

Match 3

Straight Shots @ Cue Masters

Date and Time: Tuesday 3rd February @ 6pm

Room: Cushion

Cue Masters take on Straight Shots with a lot at stake for both teams. SS need to win to keep up the pressure on Dead Stokes after there heavy defeat last week to Lucky Shotz however SS has a lot of players available. If Steven or Shelle can bring there best 6 which include its.dustin, naughty.chris and steven himself then SS have a chance. Cue Masters have just had the perfect season. Not imna million years would I have expected CM or HT to be up there and its quite refreshing to have a bit of new blood up there there challenging the top teams and they have a shot at getting tot he WPC world Cup. They must bring there top 6 however to stop SS upsetting them.

Steven and Chris for SS are in good form and Lukas is too for CM.

Players out of Form:

Last weeks defeat for its.dustin might have hit him hard and Lisa needs to win for CM to give the others a chance.

Key Men

Naughty chris is in my opinion SS's best player and will need to win liek last week and hope somemore from SS can pick up some Wins later.

SS - 2-1
Draw - 3-1
CM - Evens F

Prediction:

This is a tough one to call. When SS play well they win but more often than not this season they haven't so i will go for 3-3 draw.

Match 4

True Champs @ Latino Pool Legends

Date and Time: Tuesday 3rd February @ 7pm

Room: Logan

So what do we make of True Champs? They wiped Rank Monster out of the water last week 5-1 if they reproduce that form they can beat LPL who really expect to win this game this week. They are chasing the top 4 of PFN, X8B, SP and RM and they will find it difficult if Tino cant bring there best 6 to the table which I think he will. Maddevil again needs to bring the sort of team he did last week then he has a chance.

Players in Form:

Shogun and Tino are playing well lately and will really make for a interesting match.

Players out of Form:

If Mary plays then she will need to up her game for this match

Key Men:

Tino and Shogun are so important for the teams and will really need to drive there teams forward.

Odds:

LPL - 3-1
Draw - 4-1
TC - 3-1

Prediction:

This will be a hard match that i think LPL will just edge 4-2

Match 5

Wet Poolerz @ Lucky Shotz

Date and Time: Wednesday 4th February

Room: Sweet Dreams

Welcome to WPC Wet Poolerz I cant really say much about these as I dont really knwo of them so i will hold judgement. LS however had a BIG win last week 5-1 against SS WPZ will need to be prepared come next wednesday

Match 6

Pool Fiction @ Sexy Poolerz

Date and Time: Wednesday 4th February

Room: Bicycle Race

Pool Fiction are 7-0 and looking un-beatable (even though PDZ should have got something out of them last week) they play SP who even after a few dodgy performances find them selves in the playoff places and i dont see them losing the playoff spot but this match this week Pete will need to bring the strongest possable team he can. Ste, Ketan and Danny must show for SP to stand any chance because PFN's team is great. They have added Pita and will really look at this week to secure a playoff birth and will clinch it this week if they win.

Ketan and Pita are in form and looking good

Players out of Form:

Kev and Aaron needs to show they can still cut it against the best teams

Key Man:

Danny fits into SP so well and can play anywhere. Stu obviously is by far and away PFN's most versatile and best player.

SP - 3-1

Predictions:

I see PFN winning this there a lot stronger in WPC this season so PFN 4-2
