Last Two Matches

Tonight sees two matches that could make or break season's. In the first match I will talk about, Xtreme Poolerz travel to Wombat Wagon and play MAgic Pool. Last week Magic Pool lost to Brit Pool 5-1 and didn't look good at all. This week they entertain a XP team who in IPA are going like a train, but in WPC are fighting for there lives to keep up with the pace and if MP win they would well be out of the Playoff zone by the end of tonight.

Cubby will be looking to bring every bit of firepower he has, you look at Indy whos 4-2, Mina is 3-0 and needs one match for playoff eligability anyway, Cubby himself 4-1 but 4 wins early ontin the season and Sean(chaotic)is 3-1. MP have the potential MVP for the whole season in Steve(n00b_skills) he is 7-0 with a Credit on top but doesnt really play in clinch situations, the reason in my view why MP are so up there is not because they have played well, because if you look at the stats it is only Steve who has, its the amount of bye wins they have received with teams not having enough players. They have had 13 bye wins out of 24 consectuative matches this season from weeks and including 4-7.

This match will be tight but I feel XP are gonan come out firing this week and take it 4-2

The second match up tonight is Xtreme 8 Ball vs Brit Pool and again so much riding on this match now as SP had a shock 3-3 draw last night it meant that if X8B win they will be just one win off stealing 2nd spot from Sexy Poolerz. Brit Pool's season however could be over if they fail to get anything from this match and XP go on to win tonight then all Trey can look forward to is a Consolation Cup style playoff at the end of the season. X8B are on a roll right now and they will know that SP have faultered and Ben and James will both be looking to capitalise at BP's expense. The question is can BP stand up to the plate and score a priceless win? We will see tonight.

Hi and welcome to WPC Sports Scene and firstly I am sorry for no predictions last week, I am still ill as fuck but I intend on making it up to you now. So I am going to give you a run down of the Playoffs and explain about the Allstars and talk about about the Cup Competition. Aswell as the predictions this week.

So lets start with the Playoffs and with 11 teams in now will all take part as there is the WPC World Cup bo3 Series and a WPC Shield bo3 Series for the team that finish 7th ro 11th. SP and LPL are pretty much garenteed the Top and Runners up spot. Ant and Ketan/Pete have been the best captains this season by far. They have a team which want to play for them as Captains, the only other Captain that has a team that will play for him in my opinion is Chris from MP. They were not given a chance this season and although a loss to Brit Pool leaves the playoffs looking tighter(excluding the top 2) MP have been the standout team this season in my view.

Xtreme 8 Ball are the team that have been the best improving team this sason and now top MP in 3rd spot with Ben and James X8B have a lot of talent in there league but keeping everyone happy is a big task but there managing it and at the same time moving up the table. Can they catch the Top Two? Most probably not but they should easily get into the playoffs with a good seed.

Xtreme Poolerz will need to start looking behind them as Cubby and Co. are having a very poor run of form that is seeing them sucked into the will they make the playoffs or not. It will be 2 from 3 of SS, XP and BP. At the moment SS and XP are in the driving seat but BP are starting to pick up form again, It will be tight.

Stright Shots and Brit Pool will be looking to reach the playoffs, SS are the ones doing the best out of the 3 teams, lying in 5th place out of the 6 that get to the playoffs. Shelle has people eligable this season too and unlike last season they are regulars and will not be left short handed come playoff time. Brit Pool are the ones chasing the play off spot and if you look at what they have done in the past in UIC where they chased down. If anyone can nick a playoff spot it will be Brit Pool, but in XP and SS you have two leagues who are not accustomed to finish below the playoffs. I think BP will just miss out and end up winning the WPC Shield.

The rest of the teams are fighting for the WPC Shield seeds and Freedom who have a good record in the UIC DD CC would be one of the favourites, there team is far better than there showing this season and along with BP(or XP or SS) depending who misses out on the playoffs it will be out of them two I think.

The Allstars this season is pretty interesting and exciting. There will be 3 events, A Bootem where each Captain can nominate 2 players to join and play, A reg 8 Swiss for the top 14 players in WPC, no matter what team they play for and a 7v7 WPC Allstar match witht he 14 players invite for the swiss. This season however will be very different as, aslong as the captains fromt he two top finishing teams can agree they will capt and choose there team as the 14 players will be put into a draft and the Captain whose team finished highest will get to choose first and alternate picks will be made until the 14 players have all been picked. This will be pretty interesting and the match like usual will be 7v7 first to 7 wins. There will be atleast 4 Admins present at this to make sure it runs smoothly and Trophies awarded to the winning team.

The Cup Competition will start within the next few weeks and will most likely finish after the WPC season has finished. This will be a straight knockout competition on a sunday at 5pm Cases time. It is going to be 3 vs 3 Carry and will take place in the home rooms. There will be no ref's for this and will REQUIRE EACH CAPTAIN TO REPORT THE RESULTS TO THE FORUM, THERE IS NO CREDITS TOWARD THE PLAYOFFS IN THE REGULAR SEASON FOR THIS. Round 1 will take place one week, the rd 2 the next and so on. The Final will be in a neutral room as will the Semi Finals and there will be a ref for them matches with a coin toss to see who will call first. This is something different and every eague must attend but with it being 3v3 carry it will be very interesting.

Predictions!

Freedom vs Simply Pool Souls

So with FR throwing away a 2 game lead against LPL last week and SPS winning one and drawing one, the formbook has been turned on it shead here as Monte has really turned around the fortunes of SPS who will look a really, really good team next season with the likes of Mike(daquiet.storm) and Kat and Monte this season has been a learning curve, and with rumours going around that they will join more Interleagues(UICis the one thats going around) then next season could be big. Freedom need to regroup find out who cant report to save there lives and play eligable players if they did that last week I am sure LPL would have been turned over but they was not and LPL live to fight another scare and another day.

Cue Masters vs Sexy Poolerz

So Cue Masters are another team who you dont know what to expect and when to expect it. SP on the other hand have been ultra consistant and with players like Ste, Ketan and the re appearance of Conners who broke ran Cubby last week leaves SP looking to win WPC this season. LPL are there closest challengers but they have to get past this potential banana skin in CM. Because players like Roy and Ash moving over has only helped Cue Masters make sure they show with 6 every week, they are going to be causing a upset soon butnot this match.

Score: SP win 5-1

Lucky Shots vs Latino Pool Legends

Lucky Shots showed with 5 last week and got a creditable draw against Straight Shots, LPL got lucky against FR last week but come away with a win and basically finishing off the season just how they started it. If LS are going to get anything at all then they need a big win this week but if they dont LPL are gonna wipe them off the table as this week I see LPL and SP secure there playoff birth. Ant will want to win WPC Season 5 and prove LPL can be the first team to win WPC twice.
