I recall in the past that I have mentioned SS & how they do so well in UICSwiss but come cam time, they don't perform to their full potential. Nigel has introduced a policy for everyone in SS to cam interleague games, but not everyone [the general population] knew about that, so their recent match with XP would've been a walk in the park for XP based on the general YPool population thoughts about SS & cam, but way to go Nigel for shutting everyone up and defeating XP 4-2. Whether or not it was because Andy has some of the worst luck as of late, or XP were just having an off day [as SS were when PDZ defeated them in IPA], it was a big win for SS as not only as they make everyone else think twice about SS interleague players, but they jump up the standings and get 3 points off a team many others wont be able to manage 1 off of.
The first match on Tuesday saw Freedom defeat Ultimate Outlaws 4-2 for their first win this season. In IPA they have a great line-up, WPC is the very same, but why cant their players perform? While Jason's prediction of 9th for these guys looks incredibly smart since they cant perform, it should only be a matter of time until they click and start winning as they should. For UO it was a tough break after sticking with CM all the way the week prior. UO have defiantly cemented themselves as no walk in the park, and it'll just be a matter of when before they pick up a few more key players and become a real force.
Cue Masters were able to bounce back from an aforementioned draw with UO with a 4-2 victory over 8Ball Crushers. CM have a great line-up and were able to jump out to a 3-1 lead quickly, but its their depth that's holding them back. CM are a team that will get out to a quick lead, but it's a struggle to do anything with it there after. I'm sure there is some more talent lurking in CM that Luke & Lisa are soon to unwrap but until then I see them having to grind the games out late in matches..
In soccer/football [wherever you're from] draws are common, quite common, but what about pool? MIB so far have drew all their WPC matches and prior to this Saturday had 4 straight draws [1 in IPA]. Their most recent victim for the streak was LS who got off to a good start in the match but lost the final 2 games for the draw. Valued points lost for LS as they let a chance to be in third all alone fall to sitting in 7th. Lucky for them, WPC is going to be a long season.
LPL were able to handle TC with ease as they defeated them 5-1 to stay atop the WPC ladder with an amazing win/loss record. 2 of those losses came to an X8B side that brought their top 6 in my eyes [LPL only brought 5 as well]. So with XP faltering as much as they are, will this LPL side be able to cruise to a title repeat?
SP were able to continue their romp in cammed interleagues with a big 5-1 victory over MP this past week. SP are keeping up with LPL no doubt and by the looks at their schedule, week 7 may very well be the first week where one side is dealt less then 3 points.
X8B were able to hold off a late match push from SPS and grab the 3 points in the 4-2 victory. They find themselves tied for 3rd with SS and the next few weeks are going to be competitive ones leaving Ben & James to hope their A team can show so they're able to keep pace with the top teams.
Monday @ 6pm - Sexy Poolerz vs Xtreme 8Ball
To start off this week full of great match-ups, we have the second place in SP face off against the 4th place team in X8B. SP have a great line-up and luckily they're very consistent in showing, so a team that closely resembles Ketan, Ste, Perry, Pete, Snook & Redneck is very certain, and most weeks they'd be certain to put up big numbers, but so are their opponents. Adam, Ben, James, Eric, Corey & Tim to name a few are used to putting up numbers as well, meaning somethings gotta give in this match, and it'll all come down to if SP's captain can call the right players.
Prediction - 4-2 SP
Monday @ 7pm - Latino Pool Legends vs Straight Shots
Another barn burner of a match here as we see the top team face off a team that is walking Nigel's talk. With all the expo drama that has ensued because of Ant and his "omg SS get 50 point from byes lawlz" talk, how much talking will he do at the table? Mind you, if he is at the table, im sure LPL should have no problem in this match since beyond Berti, Craig & Alex, SS don't have anyone that can compete with the likes of Ant, Tino, Jesus, Trauma, dios & many others.
Prediction - 4-2 LPL
Tuesday @ 7pm - Ultimate Outlaws vs Lucky Shots
Interesting match up here as we have on side who are performing over every ones expectations and on the other we have one that seems to be faltering. While LS did have a tough start to the season with Freedom & XP, a draw against MIB definitely set them back a bit. UO will definitely be flying high into this match and will need all their regulars against the likes of Aaron, Simon, Chris & Tony.
Prediction - 3-3.
Tuesday @ 7pm - Magic Pool vs Cue Masters
Every ones doubting MP as a playoff contender and a team that can actually do some damage, and while it holds some truth to it, Chris & Jane lead a good team with a ton of experience and on any given week can surprise a team and pull off a big win. For that to happen this week, Craig will need to trip up big time since he's leading a stellar CM lineup and its just a matter of time before they pull out a big win.
Prediction - 4-2 CM
Thursday @ 6pm - 8Ball Crushers vs Freedom
8bc lost a great match last week to CM and look to bounce back this week [obviously]. With players like Trey & Crozzy under performing, it is just a matter of time before they click into gear and start moving up the standings, unfortunately clicking this week may not do too much against a strong Freedom side that finally picked up their first win of the season. Led by Ash & Petey, this side will use last weeks win as momentum and slowly start to rack up the wins like they should.
Prediction - 4-2 Fr
Thursday @ 6pm - Money In The Bank vs Xtreme Poolerz
MIB had a big week last week against LS as they were able to get a draw with the reigning champs.Unfortunately this week they basically play the runner-ups who added a few big names in their move to XP. XP have lost 2 close matches this season already [one with a bit of controversy] but it should be nothing to worry about. Cubby leads a great team and has dug himself out of bigger holes before.
Prediction - 5-1 XP
Thursday @ 7pm - Simply Pool Souls vs True Champs
The final match-up for this weekend is a battle of the cellar dwellers and should shape up to be a good competitive match. SPS have been surprisingly strong but unlucky thus far in their interleague debut in WPC. They have good shooters in players like daquiet, Monte & Kat, and should be able to compete with most teams this season like they have already. For TC, they've surprised me in IPA as they've been able to put together full teams despite everything that has gone on in their league. Bryan has been key thus far and if he can get Pommy to stay and play this season out, TC may be able to pull out of the cellar and make a slight push for the playoffs.
Prediction - 4-2 SPS
There they are, hope you enjoyed them and best of luck to everyone this week!
