Week 10 Predictions

Ok only 3 matches for me to predict this week since I'm staying away from the PFN match for a couple of reasons. Anyway, I'll just get on with it:

UO @ SP, Monday @ 7pm - At the beginning of the season this match would probably looked like a certainty for SP, mainly because no one really would have expected too much from UO. To look at the Premiership Conference standings now though, it may or may not surprise some to see that UO have given themselves a shot at finishing 4th in the table and chance to clinch that final play-off spot. Since defeating GR 4-2 back near the start of the season, the Outlaws have given a good account of themselves, battling to draws with 8BC and LS, as well as defeating a half decent TC team by 5-1. SP on the other hand, aren't having too bad a season themselves. Their record is decent and in likely the stronger conference, they know a play-off berth is all that's needed to compete in for the WPC World Cup come the post-season. With players like Ste, Perry and Ketan there to back up the normally very convincing Pascal, it's hard to see past them against a team like UO. Badass Outlaw and Prince have only dropped 2 games between them all season for UO though, but they'll need to pull off important wins and hope for a big performance from someone else if they're to stand a chance. Gotta go with SP, 4-2.

GR @ X8B, Tuesday @ 6pm - Two pretty contrasting leagues here, expectation-wise anyway. GR are at the bottom of the pile in the Premiership Conference, but probably never had play-off contention in mind when joining WPC, and are more one of these leagues who are along for the ride and to enjoy a good time when playing inter-leagues. X8B however, are a league that I would imagine would like to see themselves performing a little better than they are currently in WPC, looking down their player stats list they have good players with no one currently having an out-standing season. Despite their unimpressive stats, I'd fully expect X8B to pull themselves out of what is perhaps a bit of a rut, and see to it that UO are taken out of the play-off picture as soon as possible. 5-1 X8B.

BNR @ LS, Thursday @ 7pm - Here we have what I imagine would be match of the week (had there been any other good matches to contend the title). A pair of leagues having successful seasons squaring off in the last match of the week, it should be an interesting one. BNR with their 6 wins and 2 draws to stand aside their single defeat look formidable, boasting a wealth of good players including the undefeated Palp sat at 6-0. They can already start looking to getting their squad in good shape for the play-offs. LS similarly have a big team, with no fewer than 12 players already having 3 credits or more (only needing one more game in the next five weeks to become eligible), Jason shouldn't have much trouble finding a team come play-off time. Tonz, Jeremy and Aaron are having mediocre seasons, having picked up 4 wins a-piece, but I'd expect a bit more from their likes as well as Jordan, Si and Ray by the end of proceedings. It's hard to see either of these teams not making the play-offs now, and for that reason they may be thinking about eligibility as much as winning the match, it's obviously very hard to tell before hand. Still, since BNR are having such a strong season I'm gonna pick them to edge it 4-2.

I think Jason is gonna / has already put a post up for the PFN match tonight, so that should be all the matches covered this week (unless god-forbid we find another league). VGL to all leagues, hope ya's can prove me wrong if I've predicted ya to lose :p Thanks for reading. In a bit. Ogges.
