The Importance Of Sportsmanship

The start of WPC Season 4 has been a roaring success, I would like to thank every team for taking part this season. Unfortunatly we lost 3 teams but gained 3 teams that were on reserve. High Timez, Dead Strokes and Cue Masters all departed WPC, being replaced with Break N Run, Georgia Rebels and Elite Pool Competitors. So HT withdrew because there players didnt want to play Interleagues anymore which is Fair enough and I wish them all the best for the future. Dead Strokes just didnt want in WPC anymore and again its with deep regret that they have left but Break N Run a former WPC EXPO championship winner comes in. Cue Masters left because DS gave the admins 1 hours notice that they would not be participating in WPC so BNR agreed to come in and I told CM that the match would need to be re-scheduled, giving BNR 45 minutes notice to get a team together is just not fair and therefore Cue Masters refused to move so they quit, allowing EPC to come in to make there debut. The EPC vs BNR matchw ill no be played on tuesday giving both teams a 2 match week. This is a ONE OFF and was under exceptional circumstances I wanna thank both leagues for there common sense and good sportsmanship to come to a agreement. SPORTSMANLIKE BEHAVIOR would be to work with a team that have came in with next to no time and re schedule a match. Its not a difficult thing to do, I know for a fact CM didnt have many interleagues and were given a choice of sat, sun, tues or wed to play there week 1 match. Was I asking too much of CM? Well they wanted BNR to join in week 2 and im afraid that isnt on as it looked to me and a few other admins they were trying to get a easy 6-0 win bye. This is not what WPC is about, sportsmanship is very important in all walks of life. This is only yahoo pool, but people still need to set examples. Other issues this week for me in WPC Week 1 is Stephen's decision to quit his game before the black had been potted against 8BC. He was immediately boxed for his show of childness and of unsportsmanlike behaviour. Some people think it was harsh some people think the punishment of one match was not harsh enough. Again this goes down to sportsmanship and common sense along with manners are important whatever you do. Take the teams like Ultimate Outlaws and Pool Dragonz, perfect examples of how to win lose or play and have fun. If bud lost he would say gg and report, no kicking off r anything these guys are model proffessionals and the people who kick off should learn off this whole league. The last point in this post is reporting. 4 People failed to report this week and they all have a warning except one who had just forgot. It is down to the person who lost to make sure its done straight away YOU WILL BE BOXED IF YOU dont. I will not chase you every week DO it. Other than that its been a great start to WPC and gl to the new teams GR, BNR and EPC.

Take it easy WPC Jason
